The Lived Experience of Opportunity Youth

Over 12% of youth in the US are not in school or work ("opportunity youth"), but research often ignores their transition to adulthood experiences. We are conducting interviews with opportunity youth to learn more about their hopes and experiences.

Transition to Adulthood Experiences in Context

Researchers are still learning about how youths' social environments influence transition to adulthood experiences. This survey research explores transitions to adulthood in the context of parental relationships and residential situations.

We are conducting secondary analyses of risk and protective factors in youths' exposure to violence and behavioral health using data from secondary data sources, including Arizona Youth Survey.
